Infinite Combo Cards

You are able to get Filthy Tricks into play and you have a full graveyard, but now what do you do? I’ll tell you what you do: you go to town with your Finishing Moves! Let’s take a look at some of the Finishing Moves that Rogues have to choose from.

Eviscerate

It’s the old standby of straight-out dealing damage for each Combo card removed—an oldie, but a goodie. No elaborate setup, no roundabout way of attacking: just remove the newly labeled Combo cards in your graveyard and wreck the opposing hero. Nothing to it!

Expose Armor

This one is more situational, but it still gets the job done. You aren’t going to be doing much damage if your opponent is entrenched in a bunch of armor. A Golem Skull Helm here, a Draconian Deflector there, and the protection can get out of hand quickly. Expose Armor comes in and cleans up those dusty gray templates, leaving you free to get at the soft nougat center. Mmmm . . . tasty.

Slice and Dice

So the one big damage burst has already hit the opposing hero. What about all those annoying allies that you’ve had to dodge to reach turn 7? Slice and Dice is a great answer for sweeping armies of Apprentice Teep and Scout Omerrta cards off the board. Slice and Dice also has the versatility of either splitting up the damage or just pounding the opposing hero with more melee damage.

???????

This is another Finishing Move: the new one coming from Fires of Outland. In the same vein as Eviscerate and Slice and Dice, it churns out the damage. I think the biggest difference is the amount of damage that it churns out. After satisfying all the conditions for it, the amount of damage is about twice as much as Slice and Dice. If that isn’t enough to get a Rogue excited, I don’t know what is.

Getting a Kick Out of It

Filthy Tricks has the tools out there to make the Rogue Finishing Move deck a powerful option in any metagame. Personally, I love this image. “Look at that poor squishy: he was probably winding up to throw a Pyroblast at an innocent bystander and this Rogue comes up and shows him who’s boss.” It feels like a classic Rogue trick to me and it’s captured perfectly in this image. After all, “All’s fair in war and thievery.”

That’s all I have today. The previews are continuing and I hope you are enjoying them as much as I am. I have to get back to constructing my unbeatable set-6 deck now, so take it easy and most of all, have fun.
