1. Herod’s Shoulder
2. Deathdealer Breastplate
3. Frost Trap
I love search, what can I say. Any number of Herod’s Shoulders that you can add to the build will help with the consistency of hitting either a Ranged or Melee weapon. This makes acquiring even one or two copies an excellent deal, as you may not even want to run more than that.
Also don’t forget the little 1 in the lower right-hand corner; in the excitement to go sifting through the deck, it might slip your mind that you have a built-in counter to Frost Nova!
If you wish to move away from the Devilsaur Leggings trickery, you can easily adopt a single copy each of Deathdealer Breastplate, Eye of Rend, and/or Masons Fraternity Ring. The increased ATK of your shots/swings means that you can still limit opposing boards while putting legitimate pressure on the opposing hero’s health. Not an unreasonable path to explore, especially for our more aggressive-minded friends.
Lastly, we have Frost Trap, which gets third mention by virtue of being the most costly. But make no mistake, this trick is very solid. Not only does it keep your opponent’s entire party off your back for a turn, but it also has a very solid built-in surprise factor. Think about it . . . when does your opponent feel the safest? When all your resources are exhausted. The alternate cost on this ability can easily lure your opponent into sinking all of his or her resources into a big Heroic Presence—a big, worthless Heroic Presence, at least on that turn.
